Introducing Melodic Movement: Expressive Sounds for Push 3, Move & Live
After months in the studio, I'm excited to finally share something I've been working on: Melodic Movement – a sound pack built specifically for Ableton Push 3 Standalone, Move, and Live.
I've been diving deep into Ableton's hardware ecosystem lately. Push 3 and Move have completely transformed how I make music. But I kept running into the same problem – I was missing sounds that matched the expressiveness these devices are actually capable of.
Sounds that breathe. That respond to pressure. That feel alive when you play them.
So I made them myself:
What Makes Melodic Movement Different
Every single preset comes in two optimized versions. The Move version has 8 carefully assigned macros for quick creativity on-the-go. Push 3 Standalone and Live versions give you 16 macros for deeper sound shaping, plus a DEFAULT snapshot to reset after you've experimented. You can learn more on that in the new video on my YouTube channel.
Here's where it gets interesting: the Push 3/Live version lets you randomize all 16 macros. This opens up completely new sound design possibilities. I'll show you exactly how powerful this is in next week's video – trust me, it's really fun.
Built for Expression
Look for presets with "pressure" in the name. These react to how hard you push the pads – works on both Move and Push 3. The Push 3 sounds are also MPE-optimized, letting you glide between notes for expressive, organic melodies.
From evolving arpeggios and warm bass presets to lush pads and cutting leads – every sound works together seamlessly. Plus there are some wild experimental sounds in there too. When you find them, randomize those macros and see what happens.
Complete Toolkit
Melodic Movement includes 51 Drift synthesizer presets plus 2 comprehensive drum racks and 31 premium WAV samples. One drum rack covers classic kicks, claps, and percussion for melodic house and techno. The other is packed with drones, one-shot atmospherics, and SFX for jamming and texture.
The pack works perfectly with the new Ableton Move 1.7 firmware, unlocking even more creative possibilities.
