I'm Teaching My First Workshop (And You're Invited)

Hey friends, I've got something exciting to share with you today - something that's been brewing for a while now and feels like a natural next step in this whole journey of music creation and education. Mordio and I are teaching our first workshop together. December 13th and 14th at Ableton Headquarters in Berlin.
Two full days.
Very limited spots.
Music production deep dive.
And I am SUPER excited about it!
You can sign up via this link here and we will be in touch with more info.

Why We're Doing This

Here's the thing - Mordio and I have been running the Signal Chain Stories podcast together for a while now, and we've had countless conversations about how people learn music production. We both took completely different paths to get where we are. I came from 10 years of playing bass in alternative metal bands before diving into electronic music with hardware. Mordio went deep into the modular world working at Schneiders Laden before diving into the software world, mastering Ableton Live and creating those hypnotic techno tracks you might know him for.

And we realized something: most people trying to learn production get stuck choosing between hardware or software. They watch endless tutorials but never actually finish tracks. They collect gear or plugins but struggle with workflow. The missing piece isn't more information - it's hands-on guidance that bridges both worlds.

And that’s exactly what we want to do in that workshop.

What We're Actually Teaching

Day 1 is my world - hardware first. We're diving into Ableton Move and Push 3. No computer screen to stare at. Just you, the gear, and the music. We'll cover beat creation, sound design, sequencing, and building patterns. The goal is simple: get comfortable creating without overthinking. By the end of the day, everyone will have their first 8-bar musical idea.

Day 2 is where Mordio takes over. We bring those ideas into Ableton Live and transform them into finished tracks. Session View workflows, arrangement techniques, mixing essentials - EQ, compression, saturation, the whole deal. And yes, you'll actually export a finished track. No "we'll finish this later" energy. You're walking out with something real.

Who Should Come

If you're completely new to electronic music production - welcome. We designed this with beginners in mind. You don't need to own any hardware. We're providing Move and Push 3 for everyone. Just bring your laptop with Ableton Live installed.

If you've been making music for a bit but struggle to finish tracks or want to understand hardware better - this is for you too. Sometimes the best breakthroughs come from learning a structured workflow from people who've been there.

The workshop is in English, and we're keeping it accessible at 299 euros for both full days, including all equipment (except your laptop) and lots of coffee. And keeping it small? That's intentional. This isn't a lecture hall situation. We want to work with everyone individually, answer your specific questions, help troubleshoot your specific workflow challenges. That's the kind of learning environment we create by keeping the group very small.

What This Means to Me

Building the Melodic Minds community over the past year has shown me how powerful it is when producers connect in safe spaces such as Discord or real life (made our first producer meet-up in Cologne in late summer), share knowledge, and create together. This workshop feels like an extension of that - a chance to actually be in a room with you, jam together, troubleshoot together, and celebrate when you finish your first track.

Mordio and I have different approaches to music, but that's the point. You'll see two perspectives, two workflows, and you'll figure out what resonates with your creative process. There's no "right way" - just the way that works for you.
